Vintage furniture — Mid-Century Bentwood Lounge Chair

Mid-Century Bentwood Lounge Chair

$285

Consigned by Harbor Finds · Mid-century furniture and Scandinavian design

The frame is the reason to own this — steam-bent hardwood curving from the back rail down into the arms in one continuous line, the kind of joinery that takes a shop with real patience. It came out of a Mercer Island dining room updated in the 1990s, when it was apparently demoted to the basement alongside a leather settee and a marble-topped side table (both long since sold). The woven back panel has the tight basket texture that reads unmistakably 1960s, and the seat cushion is original. It’s low, it’s sculptural, and it’s the chair people gravitate to the moment they walk into the room.
